00:00Well, I think it's interesting you raised the dew because we were talking about it and I was actually talking to a couple of the Delhi lads.
00:07It looked like the dew came in the middle of the game and then disappeared.
00:10I think one of our lads said, I think we've got reverse dew. It came and went.
00:14So, look, I don't know how much that affected the innings.
00:18Look, what I would say is I thought we bowled really well.
00:20I'll focus mainly on what we've done, not on the opposition, but I thought we bowled really well.
00:24Probably one of our better bowling performances.
00:26I thought Yash Dayar bowled brilliantly up front and created chances.
00:30With Bovey and Hazelwood, you kind of know what you get from them, but they bowled brilliantly too.
00:34And then I think our spinners did a great job through the middle.
00:36They were always threatening the stumps and making it difficult for the batters.
00:41And I think that created a bit of pressure.
00:44At the end of that innings, we were pretty happy with that score, but you don't know until you get a chance to bat on it.
00:49It certainly looked like the pitch was a little bit slow and it definitely held for the spinners and it turned a little bit.
00:53So we went in a little bit cautious about that, but expecting it to be something that we could control as a chase.
01:01We did lose a few pretty soft wickets to begin with.
01:04I'm sure our batters will be reflecting on that.
01:06And that made the chase a little bit more difficult than it needed to be.
01:09But when you've got Virat at the crease, you've always known you've got a chance of getting home in a chase.
01:14He showed great composure and great skill.
01:17Crunel did a great job going in just to break a bit of that momentum for us and build a partnership with Virat, which he did brilliantly.
01:23And then it was good to see him go through the gears as well and get us closer to the score.
01:27And obviously we had a lot of firepower left in the pavilion.
01:30So, you know, Tim David going in and a few other people to come still.
01:33So, you know, once we got past the sort of the midway point, we were confident that we were back in the game.
01:39Yeah, one of the things we wanted to do at the auction was make sure that we had batting depth.
02:03So it goes back all the way to our recruitment.
02:05We wanted to make sure that we had contributions all the way down to 7-8 in our batting order.
02:11And I think we've done that through most of the season so far.
02:14Today was Crunel's opportunity and he took it really well.
02:16I think we've got that really hard, yeah.
02:21You spoke with the auction about the money to balance out the experience of Indian players in particular.
02:28Maybe having a new one-player side game, do you think he's a little bit of miseries in such a step?
02:32What are you trying to do in terms of the auction policy?
02:34Having a new one-player role players and then you have to be happy to start with the game so they don't.
02:38Absolutely right, Matt.
02:40I think a win like today where we stuttered a little bit with the bat but eventually got there was a good example of the personality and character of our team and the togetherness.
02:51I think we're in a good place right now.
02:52We've been playing pretty good cricket all season.
02:54But we've got to a point now where the character shines through and you want that in the business end of the competition.
02:59And you're right, Crunel's a good example of that.
03:01You know, a huge experience.
03:03He bowled brilliantly.
03:04You know, I spoke to him at the halftime interval and he was passionately talking about how some of our fielding positions could have been better.
03:09He's got so much to offer tactically.
03:11And then he went out and did the business with the bat as well.
03:13So, look, in the recruitment we wanted to add players of that ilk, of that experience, guys who can stand up under pressure.
03:20And it was great to see Crunel do that today, particularly with Virat guiding us through.
03:24Thanks.
03:54Well, look, whenever you're going into any season or post-auction, there's always a lot of opinions about people's squads.
04:11I try not to pay too much attention to those opinions.
04:14We got what we wanted at the auction.
04:17I think if you look at the performances of Crunel and Suyash, I wouldn't describe them as punching above their weight whatsoever.
04:22I think they're doing what they're capable of.
04:24And actually, I hope they're going to get better.
04:27Suyash is still young.
04:28He's 21 years old.
04:28He's going to get a good run of games this season.
04:32He's going to keep improving.
04:33I think today was one of his better bowling performances.
04:35So, he's getting better game after game.
04:37So, I definitely don't think he's punching above his weight.
04:39I think he's got a lot more to go.
04:42Crunel's got a reputation for a reason.
04:44He's been a fantastic spin bowler in the IPL for a long time.
04:48He's typically been someone that's been quite miserly.
04:50He hasn't given many runs away with his economy rate.
04:53But actually, it's been good seeing him bowl even more bravely this year and taking more wickets.
04:58So, look, we've tried to evolve what they do.
05:00We're trying to coach them and improve them and get them to be even better than they have been in the past.
05:05And I think they've got even more to add, hopefully, in the back half of this competition.
