00:00I'm not surprised there would be elements who are not in favor of the Workers' Party
00:09who would want to cast aspersions on what we have advanced in our manifesto.
00:14It's not just Alia's view. I remember the Workers' Party has a position on Palestine.
00:19We have a view on the two-state solution. We have a view on how peace should come to that region.
00:24Many Singaporeans, regardless of race and religion, are very sensitive to that issue.
00:30And our approach is more of a humanitarian concern.
00:34And we have a view that it is important for a two-state solution to be advanced.
00:38And we have advanced in the manifesto how we think that would come about.
00:43And so far as picking on certain of our candidates, I think this is par for the political battle.
00:49We have to be ready for it. But Singaporeans know us. Singaporeans should be aware of the Workers' Party.
00:53We cannot be a successful political party if we play the race and religion card.
01:00Our approach is pan-Singaporean, all races, all religions. This is what we advance to you.
01:06And we will be fair to everybody. And we will listen to everybody's views.
01:10And you can also understand there is a diversity of views in Singapore now.
01:15Always has been. More so now with social media.
01:18But I think if we are committed to handle it thoughtfully, sensitively,
01:23and within the context of our multiracial society, we will be okay.
