The 2026 Hyundai Palisade Gives ’Em What They Want

Hyundai has redesigned the big palisade SUV for 2026. It’s got a bigger and more upscale cabin

00:00This is the 2026 Hyundai Palisade, the all-new version of Hyundai's big 7 or 8-seater SUV.

00:12It's a larger vehicle overall with a longer wheelbase, more upscale styling,

00:17a newly available hybrid powertrain, and a new XRT Pro trim, which will actually be usable off-road.

00:30The outgoing Palisade had a 3.8-liter V6.

00:37The new one gets a slightly smaller engine, 3.5 liters, 287 horsepower, 260 pound-feet.

00:42That's a slight reduction in power, but the big news is that there will now be a hybrid option.

00:48It pairs a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a pair of electric motors

00:52that actually live inside the six-speed automatic transmission.

00:56We don't have final numbers, but Hyundai is estimating about 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet

01:03of torque from the whole system, and their hope is that it would deliver more than 30

01:07miles per gallon on the highway.

01:14Other big news is the new XRT Pro trim level.

01:18Unlike last year's XRT, which was just an off-road appearance package, this one adds real functionality.

01:23An extra inch of ground clearance, improved approach, departure, and break-over angles.

01:27An electronic limited slip differential, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and extra

01:32terrain modes for the all-wheel drive system.

01:34This thing is actually meant to go where no Palisade has gone before.

01:43One of Hyundai's priorities was to make the interior an upscale, relaxing place.

01:47Now, this is the top-of-the-line calligraphy model, but all the Palisades will have these nice

01:51rounded shapes. There's kind of this glare shield over the digital dash, so you can see it even

01:56in sunlight, and this lovely center console, which actually has room for a purse behind it.

02:02One thing we were surprised to see is that the third row is actually habitable by adults,

02:06at least short ones like me, and the access is very good.

02:10The concentration was to make more interior space and make it more upscale and more relaxing

02:15for the family.

02:15Hyundai has not announced pricing, but they will tell us closer to launch, which is going

02:23to be summer of 2025, for the V6-powered Palisade, and the hybrids will follow in the fall.
