Day cries after Petro Gazz defeat

Petro Gazz’s American import Gia Day became emotional after her team’s exit in the 2025 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Champions League, bowing to Beijing BAIC Motor of China on Friday, April 25.

Petro Gazz ran out of fuel in the grueling five-set match after bowing to China, 29-31, 25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 12-15, in the semifinals.

The 6-foot-2 spiker, who mounted 35 points, 17 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions shed some tears after her stint in representing the Philippines.

“I’m very angry right now because I think that the girls did really enough for us to win. I could have kept it up in the last sets, but I’m really proud of how everyone worked so hard,” Day told media.
