“আমাদের বাংলার তিনজন রয়েছে। খুবই দুঃখজনক ঘটনা। ওরা ফিরুক, ওঁদের সাথে দেখা করব। ওঁদেরকে সবরকমের সাহায্য করব। পুরুলিয়ার যিনি ওনার সাথে যোগাযোগ করা যায়নি, তবে বাকিদের সাথে কথা হয়েছে। এই ঘটনার তীব্র প্রতিবাদ করছি। এঁদের কোনও জাত নেই, কোনও ধর্ম নেই, এঁদের একটাই পরিচয় জঙ্গি। অবশ্যয় ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া উচিত। তবে আমি একটা বিষয় ভাবছি, এরা কতটা পরিকল্পনা করে এসেছিল, যে অতক্ষণ ধরে, নাম-ধর্ম জিজ্ঞেস করে গুলি করেছে, অথচ সেনাবাহিনী কিছু জানতেই পারল না। আপাতত, এই সব নিয়ে ভাবছি না, ওরা ফিরে আসুক শান্তিপূর্ণ ভাবে”, রাজ্যপালকে দেখতে গিয়ে এমনই প্রতিক্রিয়া দিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।


“We have three from Bengal. It is a very sad incident. Let them return, we will meet them. We will help them in every way. The one from Purulia could not be contacted, but the rest have been spoken to. I strongly protest this incident. They have no caste, no religion, their only identity is that of a terrorist. Necessary action should be taken. But I am wondering about one thing, how much planning did they have. They have been shooting for so long, asking names and religions, but the army could not find out anything. For now, I am not thinking about all this, let them return peacefully”, said by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
