La moglie Usha è figlia di immigrati indiani.Le strade che conducono al mausoleo sono state decorate con fiori e poster di Vance, mentre l'amministrazione locale ha accolto gli ospiti con tutti gli onori. La Casa Bianca ha intanto ufficializzato che il vicepresidente JD Vance non parteciperà ai funerali di Papa Francesco, in programma sabato 26 aprile in Vaticano.
