00:00Motorcycles come in a variety of styles, each suited to a certain type of rider.
00:09And when you add customization to the equation, it opens up a new realm of possibility.
00:14In season one, we changed the Skull-Ridden Softail Deuce into a tribute to military bikes
00:19of the past.
00:20If that wasn't chopper enough, last season we built a custom pro street for buckets of
00:24parts.
00:25Road bikes with lean, mean machines with plenty of muscle and hustle, ideal for a solitary
00:30rider ready to taste the freedom of an open road.
00:33And this year we're customizing a 2010 Street Glide, which is a bagger-style motorcycle complete
00:38with custom saddlebags, a radio and touring-style seating.
00:42That means you and yours could have the perfect road trip on a bike that rips.
00:46Speaking of ripping, Darren, I think that Dave is about to tear into this bagger right about
00:50now.
00:51Today, the pigs are flying high in the sky and getting dirty in the sty at Bad Pig Customs.
00:58So what we're going to do is just take it apart today, just so we can get it to the painter,
01:02because that's going to take it the longest time, is to paint.
01:05The new bike is on the chopping block, and Dave is ready to strip some meat off its bones.
01:10My favorite part is tearing things apart.
01:13I'll start by just taking the back fender off.
01:16That's the hardest part.
01:17Put everything in our bucket so that when we do start putting it back together, we have
01:24everything.
01:25Here in the shop, Dave is in his element.
01:38With each bolt turned and part removed, he practices a little zen in the art of motorcycle
01:44maintenance.
01:45When I'm working on bikes all by myself, I kind of think about what I'm going to do
01:49to this thing next, or what could be done to it.
01:52Learning is a big part of it.
01:55You know, you always look at what somebody else did, you know.
01:58Did they really ride this bike like this, or who did this, you know?
02:02Sometimes it's a good thing.
02:04You learn from it.
02:05Maybe see something that somebody did that you were like, hey, I should do it that way.
02:10A wise man once said, a true master is an eternal student.
02:15Dig it.
02:22Well, this ain't going to come off like I wanted it to.
02:29I got to take the front fender off.
02:35I'm having an issue.
02:36So I got to jack the bike up, take the front wheel off, take the front fender off.
02:40They used to drill holes in the bolts and put wires through it for speed so that they
02:45don't vibrate out.
02:46So what they do is on the front fenders, they pound a little tab over so that the bolt
02:51doesn't vibrate out.
02:52Because believe it or not, there's been a lot of times where my front fender fell off.
02:58See how it's got a locking tab on the bolt?
03:13So what we got to do is tap that off.
03:23Success.
03:24See how it's all locking?
03:26You bend these tabs over.
03:28It's non-vibrating.
03:30It won't vibrate out.
03:32Those are the culprits.
03:352010 doesn't seem like that old, but it's a kind of older bike.
03:42Now that Dave has dealt with the rusted bolt, he finishes removing this finicky fender.
03:50The original parts are now ready to be sent off to the painter, along with new extended
03:54saddlebags for a sleek, custom look.
03:57This bike may be dressed down, but soon it'll be glowed up.
04:02As for Dave, well, he's got more disassembling to do before the day is truly through.
04:10On the next episode of the Call Sam Chopper Shop, we're putting down the tools and going
04:14to school.
04:15Now this is my kind of course.
04:20One thing that's clear.
04:21This is going to be one heck of a painting job this year.
04:24Without a doubt.
04:25And while the bike won't need as much in terms of a rebuild, Dave will be going over the mechanics
04:30with a fine tooth comb.
04:32You know what I'm going to say next.
04:34Be sure to head over to CallSam.com backslash chopper shop to secure your raffle ticket for
04:39a chance to win this bike.
04:41Thanks for watching and tune in next time.
