Tourist flew from the US to Egypt for $798 to spend a day there

Kevin Droniak, 27, flew 5,733 miles from New York to Cairo for just 24 hours on April 4, 2025, to experience Egypt's history and cuisine.  After landing early the next morning, he explored the pyramids, visited the first pyramid ever built in Saqqara, tried local dishes like hawashi and baba ganoush, and strolled along the River Nile.  Kevin spent $1,198 on the quick trip, which included flights, a tour guide, food, and hotel.  He hopes to return for a longer visit, having loved the experience, especially seeing the pyramids.  Kevin previously did a 24-hour trip to London in May 2024.

00:03So my flight lands in Cairo at 5 a.m., and my flight back to New York is at 5 a.m. the next day.

00:24And I'm also visiting the Steppe Pyramid in Saqqara, which is the first ever stone structure

00:30The same civilization that built the first pyramid also built the largest one, which is insane to me.

00:34And now I'm in a tunnel to go see the oldest known religious text ever discovered, and

00:40you just can't get this at the match.

00:41No one talks about how the pyramids make you peckish, so I'm going to find some food.

00:49You know, I don't usually do this on my day trips, but I just got a hotel room because I need a place

00:55Denial is a river in Egypt, and my hotel is on it.

00:59And now I'm doing some light shopping so I can stay a week before the flight.
