00:00Today, Rupert has to find a silver crown in Rupert and the Shoemaker's Son.

00:16There's a little bear like you've never seen before, who's a lot of fun.

00:23Children everywhere, though they love him more and more, he's the number one.

00:30There's a million stories to be told, all the things that he's done.

00:36And he's gonna share them all with you, so come along.

00:44Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.

00:51Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.

00:56Rupert, Rupert is helping Mrs. Bear with the cooking.

01:09Mr. Bear is outside gardening.

01:11Put the kettle on for some tea, will you, dear?

01:14Mrs. Bear asks Rupert.

01:16Daddy will be thirsty when he comes in.

01:19Right, Mummy, says Rupert as he goes to the tap.

01:21Oh, says Mr. Bear as he enters the kitchen.

01:26It's very hot again today.

01:28The ground is much too dry.

01:31Mummy, there's no water in the tap, cries Rupert.

01:34Oh, dear.

01:37Well, it hasn't rained for weeks now.

01:39There must be a drought.

01:41What are we going to do, Daddy?

01:43The only place there might be some water is in the old well at the other end of the village.

01:48Rupert arrives at the well to see Edward Trunk, who's just got his bucket of water.

01:54Hello, Rupert.

01:55Isn't it hot?

01:57Haven't you got any water at your house either?

02:00No, replies Rupert, getting out of the chariot.

02:03I wish it would rain.

02:06Must go.

02:07Mummy wants this water to do the washing.

02:10Bye.

02:11Edward leaves Rupert, who is already luring his bucket down the well.

02:15What was that?

02:20It sounded as if it came from down there, exclaims Rupert, puzzled.

02:25He winds his bucket up.

02:27It hasn't got any water in it, but a very large, cross frog.

02:34What do you think you're doing?

02:36I came for some water.

02:38There's none anywhere else in Nutwood.

02:40Well, you can't have any.

02:43Oh, please.

02:44Yes, wait.

02:45You didn't let me finish.

02:47You can't have any until you do something for me.

02:52Oh, anything, replies Rupert.

02:55Well, then, bring to me here a golden princess, who will place the silver crown on my head.

03:03The golden princess?

03:05But I don't know her.

03:07Where does she live?

03:08But when Rupert looks back, the frog has gone.

03:12And there's still no water in the bucket.

03:15Now what am I going to do?

03:17Oh, Drizzle!

04:07And he lands them in fairy tale land.

04:11Rupert climbs out of the hat, while Drizzle looks around.

04:16No rain clouds here.

04:18I'll call back for you later.

04:19Can't stop.

04:20And he's off again.

04:22Rupert gazes about him.

04:24It's a beautiful place, he declares.

04:27But where do I find the golden princess?

04:32Hello, who are you?

04:34Asks a voice.

04:36Rupert looks round and sees a boy.

04:37I'm Rupert Bear, he replies.

04:41And I'm looking for the golden princess.

04:42Can you help me, please?

04:45Oh, I'll tell you where you can find her, all right.

04:47But that's all.

04:49But what about the princess?

04:51If you must go there, you take the sandy path through the feathery trees.

04:55Rupert looks around.

04:58Oh, he must mean over there, he says to himself.

05:04Before long, Rupert sees the gates of the golden castle.

05:09But the guard is very fierce, so he keeps out of sight.

05:12He looks up at the tower, and there he sees a girl.

05:17And she's wearing a silver crown.

05:19She must be the princess.

05:22Oh, dear.

05:24He turns sadly away.

05:29What's that?

05:30Well, well, it's a little bear, cries the man in a turban.

05:35I'm Rupert.

05:36Who are you?

05:37I'm the Sultan, and I'm just trying out my latest model of flying carpet.

05:42Look, I can fly forwards.

05:45And backwards.

05:48And sideways.

05:50And he lands again beside Rupert.

05:52I expect the carpet would fly upside down as well, but I might fall off.

05:57Hmm.

05:59Well, you don't sound very interested in my carpet.

06:02I might as well go, says the Sultan, taking off.

06:05Oh, no, come back, shouts Rupert, who was only busy thinking.

06:09He's had an idea.

06:11You see, he starts as the Sultan lands once more.

06:15I've got to rescue the golden princess from the tower up there.

06:18And your carpet would be just the thing.

06:21Ah, yes.

06:22And it would be a good test to see if it can carry three people, too, he agrees.

06:27Come on, then.

06:29Rupert jumps on to the magic carpet.

06:30I've got some sleeping powder here.

06:34I'll just sprinkle some on that guard first.

06:36I don't like the look of him.

06:39And as they're passing over the gateway, he sprinkles the guard, who immediately falls asleep.

06:44Here we are, says the Sultan.

06:50Are you the golden princess, inquires Rupert.

06:54Yes.

06:55Come on, hurry up.

06:57You can talk later.

06:59Rupert helps the princess onto the carpet, and they fly off.

07:02They land a little way from the castle.

07:07This carpet could carry six people without any trouble, says the Sultan.

07:12Rupert and the princess climb off, thankfully.

07:15Must get back to Turkey now, before it gets dark.

07:18Haven't fitted any lights yet.

07:20Aye, and thank you, shouts Rupert gratefully, as they wave to the Sultan.

07:26Ah, you found what you came for, then.

07:29It's Drizzle back again.

07:30Yes, can you take us back now, please?

07:33It'll be a bit of a squash, three in a hat, but come on.

07:38The princess and Rupert climb into the hat.

07:40Back home to Nutwood, they're racing pell-mell.

07:43First they fly this way, then they fly that.

07:47Till there they are, landing right down by the well.

07:54The frog isn't there, so Rupert calls down.

07:58Mr. Frog!

08:00I've brought you the golden princess.

08:03Lower the bucket down the well, then.

08:05How do you expect me to get up?

08:08The frog shouts up impatiently.

08:10Oh, sorry!

08:11Rupert lowers the bucket.

08:13But I don't want to meet a frog, says the princess in horror.

08:17Too late.

08:18He's there.

08:19Oh, he's very ugly, she exclaims.

08:22Put your silver crown on my head, then, he says to the princess.

08:28She looks doubtfully at Rupert.

08:30Oh, please do as he says, Rupert encourages.

08:32She carries her crown to the frog, and places it on his head, standing back hurriedly.

08:39There's no longer a frog, but a handsome prince, holding the princess's crown.

08:48Oh, exclaims Rupert.

08:51What's happened?

08:53But the princess recognizes him.

08:57Tarquin!

08:58But why are you dressed like a prince?

09:00You are the shoemaker's son.

09:02Your father made the witch turn me into a frog.

09:06But as a joke, she said if you were to put your silver crown on my head, I would not only change back, but become a prince as well.

09:14I was so ugly, she didn't think you'd ever do that.

09:20Rupert has been listening in amazement.

09:23Well, your father won't mind you marrying a prince.

09:26You'll be all right now, he tells the princess.

09:29But how are we to get home?

09:32Oh, come on.

09:33If you hurry, I'll take you, offers Drizzle grudgingly.

09:37The prince and princess are sorry to leave Rupert, but mustn't keep Drizzle waiting.

09:42Goodbye.

09:43Just lower your bucket now, and thanks, calls the prince as they gather speed.

09:49Rupert had forgotten all about the water, but he lowers his bucket, and sure enough, it comes up full to the brim.

09:57Mrs. Bear is looking out for Rupert as he flies in.

09:59You have been a long time, Rupert.

10:03Well, you see, I couldn't get the water until I found the golden princess.

10:07Oh, Rupert, hurry up, cries Mrs. Bear impatiently.

10:11Just as he's going inside, it starts to rain.

10:15Drizzle must have found the rain cloud too, says Rupert happily.

10:19Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone sing his name.

10:38Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join in all of his games.
