00:00A heartbreaking incident occurred in Lagos this morning as a building housing a local

00:06restaurant collapsed in Ojodubega area.

00:14The incident happened around 8 a.m. on Oremeta Street.

00:19The collapsed structure was home to a popular spot known as Equal Rights Restaurant, eyewitnesses

00:26said the building suddenly gave way, sending people inside and nearby into panic.

00:34Several individuals are feared to be trapped under the rubble and there are concerns that

00:38some may have lost their lives.

00:41Emergency teams, including officials from Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and the

00:47fire service are currently at the scene, working tirelessly to rescue anyone who might still

00:54be alive.

00:55Local restaurants have also joined in helping clear debris with their bare hands while calling

01:01for more support from authorities.

01:04No official figure has been released under number of casualties, but rescue operations are

01:10still ongoing.
