00:18Well, I can certainly help do the dishes. Let's all do it together.

00:20You're gonna teach me how to make bread tomorrow.

00:22I am? Yes.

00:24Okay, I'm gonna do the dishes. No arguments.

00:30Okay. Merci mademoiselle.

00:36She really is a lovely young lady.

00:42I worry that she's growing up too fast.

00:44She feels she has to take care of me now that her mom's gone.

01:06Probably exactly the reason I was attracted to it.

01:08How so?

01:10When I did, my parents and I used to go to this little place called Francoise.

01:14A town that I grew up.

01:16We used to go every Sunday for breakfast.

01:18And when my parents passed, my grandparents had to sell their house.

01:22So, no more.

01:24And I would just go back every once in a while.

01:28To just feel close to them.

01:30There.

01:32And one day I found myself being hired as a waitress there.

01:38Which was really nice.

01:40And a few months after that, a line cook got sick and they asked me to help out.

01:44Which was even better.

01:46And for the first time since my parents died, I felt like I was home again in that kitchen.

02:05I mean, I threw Italian, Japanese, Greek food at you.

02:10You'd have thought you were trained in all those cuisines too.

02:12Have you ever thought of, I don't know, straying from such traditional French dishes?

02:18Well, French food is definitely that.

02:20It's very precise, very exacting, very detailed.

02:24But at least I know that there's a right way and a wrong way to do things.

02:27And I find it very comforting because the rest of the universe does not exactly follow those rules all the time, does it?

02:35When Kate died, it was just so ridiculous.
