00:00You said that the president's tariffs are wrong.
00:03Do you still believe that the United States is a reliable trade partner?
00:07They always try to help.
00:08It can only be her.
00:10Should the European Union still believe that the United States is a reliable trade partner?
00:16Well, I'm here exactly for, for making the West stronger.
00:21I believe in the West unity, and I think simply we have to talk.
00:25She believes in the president.
00:26She believes in the president.
00:28Also, and find ourselves in the best middle way to grow together.
00:36That's why I'm here.
00:39If I wouldn't think it's a reliable partner, I wouldn't be here.
00:43We have a very good relationship together, and as countries, we have a very good relationship.
00:48To follow up, Mr. President, what if there is not a trade deal with the EU by the time of the end of your 90-day pause on the same day?
00:56Oh, there'll be a trade deal, 100%.
00:58Well, you think there won't be a, of course there'll be a trade deal, very much, they want to make one very, very much, and we're going to make a trade deal.
01:05A trade deal.
01:06I fully expect it, but it'll be a fair deal.
01:08Are they on your priority list?
01:10Everybody's on my priority list.
01:13Mr. President, do you plan to meet with the president of the EU?
01:16Mr. President, do you plan to meet with the president of the EU or so on the line, and do you plan to have other meetings with the EU as well?
01:29Many.
01:29We had a meeting yesterday with Japan, as you know, we've had numerous talks, very, very, at the highest level, frankly, with other countries.
01:38Yeah, we're doing very well, and we're moving along on trade very well.
01:41The United States was ripped off and taken advantage of by every country in the world, practically.
01:47I mean, I have to say practically, but just about everyone.
01:51That's not going to happen anymore, but we're going to make fair deals.
01:54Mr. President, do you have any talks with Japan and Italy this week?
02:00Do you expect to announce an initial trade deal with any of these countries by next year?
02:04At a certain point, yeah, we're in no rush.
02:06We're in no rush.
02:07You have to understand, we're getting right now 25% on cars, 25% on steel, 25% on aluminum.
02:15We're getting a 10% baseline.
02:17We took that down just because it was, you know, the appropriate thing to do until we decide what the number will be.
02:23And we're, you know, taking in a lot of money, which we've never done before, frankly.
02:28With Biden, we were losing a fortune on trade.
02:32But we're, you know, we're moving along very nicely, and we're going to end up with a baseline of a substantial number, which we never got anything.
02:41You know, the United States never got anything until I came along, and then I put very substantial tariffs on China, if you remember.
