00:09sea levels and water scarcity however now according to researchers from Emory University
00:13in Georgia global warming is also making our planet's venomous snakes even more dangerous
00:19it's long been known that snake behavior changes with the seasons however now the researchers have
00:23found a direct link between the temperature rising and your chances of being bitten they
00:27came to this conclusion by looking at three thousand nine hundred and eight venomous snake
00:31related hospital visits between the years 2014 and 2020 finding that for every single degree
00:37Celsius of temperature increase there was a six percent increased chance of being bitten by one
00:41of these snakes they add that while they can't provide a direct reason for why this occurs it's
00:45likely due to multiple factors one of those is that snakes and humans are more active when the weather is
00:50warmer meaning people are likely treading in snake territory while those snakes are also moving around
