Asher, un ancien agent du Mossad devenu tueur à gages, mène une vie bien réglée dans le quartier juif de Williamsburg. Seulement épaulé par son comptable Abram, il travaille seul, simplement et avec efficacité. La routine le maintient en sécurité et en vie. Alors qu'il exécute un contrat pour son patron Avi, il est victime d'un malaise, conséquence d'une vieille blessure, devant l'appartement d'une certaine Sophie. Ils deviennent amants. Mais Asher néglige son travail. Bientôt, sa vie et celle de Sophie sont menacées...
