Muslim World League's Dr Al-Issa calls for global dialogue to combat hatred

In an interview with Euronews, the Muslim World League Secretary General Sheikh Al-Issa condemned the ongoing 18-month conflict in Gaza, which has claimed tens of thousands of lives, but remains hopeful that the Strip will rebuild.

00:00While Islamophobia and anti-Semitism are on the rise in Europe and around the world,
00:05Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Alisa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League,
00:10called for dialogue between cultures and civilizations and warned against religious hatred.
00:16In an interview with Euronews, Dr. Alisa also condemned the war in Gaza,
00:21which has been raging for a year and a half following a Hamas attack on southern Israel.
00:30Dr. Alisa also warned against blaming Jews or Muslims for the armed conflicts and instability in the Middle East.
00:54He said the terrorist attacks carried out by Muslims in Europe represent only those
00:59who carried them out.

01:29Sheik al-Issa, who previously served as Minister of Justice in his home country of Saudi Arabia,
01:37said that dialogue is the only way to reconcile peoples and cultures.
01:41We are against any form of discrimination, any form of discrimination, so we are against
01:49discrimination against the religion, and against any other discrimination, whether it was ethnic
02:03or cultural or any form of discrimination.
02:09The Muslim World League is an Islamic organization based in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
02:14It defines itself as an Islamic body that promotes tolerance and friendship among peoples.
