Our latest Solar PCU now integrates CAN communication for intelligent lithium battery management and a powerful Time-of-Day (TOD) control feature for optimized energy usage. 1. CAN Communication with Lithium Battery BMS The Solar PCU seamlessly interfaces with the Battery Management System (BMS) via the CAN Bus protocol, enabling real-time data exchange for enhanced performance and safety. It continuously monitors key battery parameters such as: State of Charge (SOC) State of Health (SOH) Battery Temperature Based on this live data, the system makes intelligent operational decisions including: Battery full cutoff Battery low warning & cutoff Transitioning between solar and mains mode Solar re-connection based on SOC thresholds This ensures optimal battery usage, extended battery life, and precise energy control tailored to lithium chemistry. 2. Time-of-Day (TOD) Energy Management The TOD feature allows users to define up to three discharge time slots and three charging block time slots. This enables strategic energy scheduling to align with tariff rates, load demands, or solar availability. Each time slot includes: Customizable time duration for discharge. Customizable time duration for mains charger ON/OFF User-defined depth of discharge (DoD) Battery Protection Override: If the battery voltage or SOC drops below the user-defined minimum during a discharge period, the system automatically overrides the TOD schedule and reconnects to the mains. This ensures the battery is never over-discharged, protecting the system at all times.
