Filmer, Donna, shared this deeply emotional reunion that is heartwarming in every literal sense.

"My mother and brother were able to reunite after 17 years," Donna told WooGlobe.

''Unfortunately, my brother had to leave for Mexico and couldn’t return to California since he doesn’t have a visa.''

But sometimes, distance isn’t as strong as the bonds of family.

Donna’s mom finally got her permanent residency, made possible by Donna's other brother’s selfless decision to join the Marines.

The moment they embraced each other after a long time spoke volumes about how much they missed each other.

Can you imagine how much the child within shocked and healed? The man became a child that he held for 17 years. Trauma stops time when it occurred. By meeting again, the healing starts.
