Salina Alsworth, 27, lives in Port Alsworth, Alaska, one of the world’s most remote villages, where groceries are flown in every two months.
Salina, who works as a manager at Lake Clark Resort, has lived in the village her whole life.
Her husband, Jared Richardson, 25, relocated to the village in 2022 from Detroit, Michigan, and has adapted to the isolated life.
With no convenience stores, bars, or restaurants, residents rely on deliveries from Anchorage, 200 miles away.
Weather conditions, like snow and fog, often delay flights, making living in the village challenging.
Despite this, Salina loves the close-knit community and has no plans to leave.

I think my husband going to work before 8 a.m. is starting to become a norm.
00:03
It's life in remote Alaska, and I spent my morning working on email for going on an adventure of a lifetime,
00:09
a.k.a. going to go cut some wood.
00:10
This time, we picked a spot a little further away than a regular wood-cutting spot.
00:14
We took our snow machines and drove on the frozen Lake Clark.
00:17
My uncle popped in with his plane to say hi. That was a really cool opportunity.
00:20
We spent about 40 minutes driving before we got to our destination.
00:24
There were six machines that went, and eight sleds total to fill.
00:27
Well, if you count the log-pulling sled.
00:30
Because of where we live, we can only cut wood in the winter.
00:32
Talk all about it in one of my YouTube videos.
00:34
We spent over an hour cutting, filling all of our sleds, before we started heading home.
00:39
The ride over wasn't too bad. The ride back was a little scary.
00:42
A couple pressure cracks opened up. The scariest one was almost two feet wide.
00:45
You literally just had to keep going. Screamed a couple times.
00:48
But we made it home, all with our wood, safe and sound.
00:51
We had dinner all as a family.
00:53
Willow gave us a little concert on the drums and the piano.
00:56
It was, in fact, a great day living in remote Alaska.
00:58
This is my four to nine living in a remote Alaska village.
01:02
This time it's just me and my cast because my husband is still in Michigan on a hunting trip with his family.
01:06
I started work around 7.30 this morning, so I decided to call it quits around four.
01:10
Joys of working from home.
01:11
Gotten my dinner ready in the crock pot and had to make some naan.
01:15
I was doing some butter chicken, rice and naan for dinner because my husband doesn't like Indian food.
01:20
I love it.
01:20
So I'm gonna make it for myself while he is away.
01:22
Because I have the whole place to myself, I decided to work on a blanket that I started earlier this summer.
01:27
And it's literally been taking up the majority of the living room floor.
01:30
Popped on a chick flick, did myself a cup of tea, and started working away.
01:33
I really wanted to go outside on a walk.
01:35
But the sunset now is at 4.36.
01:37
Last week there were a couple bears running around town.
01:39
So with the dark and the bears might be still out, I decided to stay inside.
01:42
And it's also negative one degrees outside.
01:45
Got to chat with my husband on the phone and this is the progress that I made tonight on the blanket.
01:48
I have two more rows to add plus a border.
01:50
Getting worried that the blanket might not be white enough.
01:52
And I really don't want to buy more yarn.
01:54
Buy home with me to my little remote Alaska village.
01:57
This was a very fun flight.
01:58
My cousin Ned was our pilot and it was just Jared and I.
02:02
This non-rev flight bringing a whole lot of doors and flooring for our new cabins at the resort.
02:10
Left Anchorage for the 45 minute flight home.
02:13
Got to see some cool things like Mount Spur, which is the volcano that everyone is hearing about that might be erupting.
02:19
And then also these planes refueling.
02:21
That is something I've never seen, but it was pretty darn cool.
02:25
Took the scenic route through Lake Clark Pass.
02:27
I know my phone doesn't capture it, but it was quite bumpy.
02:30
But it was the most gorgeous day I have flown this year.
02:33
Definitely the springtime weather is upon us.
02:36
Blue skies, beautiful mountains led to a very open Lake Clark.
02:41
It's crazy because usually it's still completely frozen over, but this just shows how warm of a winter we've had.
02:46
There was no time at all until I saw the little glimpse of home.
02:49
The view, that view might look like nothing, but to me, that is my little hometown.
02:53
Really no time had passed until we were turning in for a landing.
02:57
The locations are wonderful and I love being able to experience new things with Jared,
03:00
but there's just nothing that beats the feeling of going home.
03:04
Every time I see this view and we're just getting ready to touch down, it feels like I can breathe again.
03:09
This place has my complete heart and I just love it so dang much.
