00:00How do you speak French?

00:08Well, I don't speak French, so I don't think the language is there.

00:12No, no, no, I'm still learning French.

00:14But no, I think for a long time now, Canadian players,

00:19we knew we had the talent and the ability to play at high levels.

00:23But I think we are missing a little bit the exposure against good teams,

00:27and I think that's what's really changed, you know.

00:29Before the Copa America, we had two friendly games against the Netherlands,

00:32against France, you know, and then going into Copa America,

00:35we played Argentina, you know, top teams in the world.

00:38And I think we showed that we can play at that level,

00:41and I think from there, you know, you have so many eyes

00:44watching those teams and those games all the time.

00:47And yeah, when you perform well, then teams came for us,

00:52and yeah, we're just happy to push the game for Canada

00:56and to show, yeah, the next generation that it is possible

01:00to play at high levels coming from Canada.

01:02Definitely pressure, you know, but I try to keep the mentality,

01:05you know, that pressure is a privilege.

01:07And yeah, I try to...

01:09There's obviously the pressure of playing inside the velodrome,

01:12but it's also a blessing to play in front of, you know, so many fans,

01:15so many passionate fans that come every game, that support us,

01:18that follow us to away games, you know.

01:21It's really a blessing and something that as a kid,

01:23every kid wants to play in front of fans like that.

01:26So I try not to forget that even when, you know,

01:29things may not go well and it seems like, you know,

01:32the pressure is getting a lot or the pressure is high.

01:34I try to remember that it's still a blessing to play in this stadium

01:38in front of these fans for this club and try and just enjoy

01:42every time I get to play there.

01:44I think it's always a difficult task, you know.

01:47Paris obviously has a very strong team.

01:49Financially, they have, you know, very strong as well.

01:55But yeah, as I said, it's another challenge for myself, for the club,

02:01you know, that's the standard that we need to reach.

02:03That's the level that we need to be at every day.

02:05And I think no one in Marseille is backing away from that challenge,

02:11you know, we're doing everything possible to make that,

02:14to make that happen, that objective happen.

02:16And yeah, I think we're on the right path to closing that gap.

02:20I mean, he's an amazing player, so why not?

02:23But, you know, in football stuff changes so fast, you know.

02:27One day, you know, the club could want one player,

02:30something happens and it's another player that ends up showing up.

02:34So yeah, the summer window is far away and, you know,

02:37I trust both Pablo, Mehdi, the coaching staff to make the right decisions

02:41for what the team needs going forward.

02:43And I try not to put too much focus on that.

02:46I try to stick to my job and do what I need to do.

02:50And yeah, because I know when I'm at my best, then the team is going to be better.
