It's midnight in Thursley, the challenge begins.
00:02
This challenge, inspired by David Goggins,
00:04
requires participants to cross 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours on foot.
00:09
This is all to raise awareness for brain tumour research and to support my friend Max.
00:13
We're on the third run, feeling very tired as I haven't had a proper sleep.
00:30
Seeing everything that Max has been through this year has been extremely difficult,
00:38
but it's also been truly inspirational and I wanted to do the challenge by myself.
00:45
As a sort of insane way of showing my respect for everything you've been through
00:48
and how well you've pushed through everything.
00:50
I'm absolutely shattered, but we've still got 24 miles to go.
01:01
The 4am walk was really, really rough.
01:04
I could barely walk in a straight line.
01:06
It's 8am on Sunday morning, we've got 16 miles to go.
01:10
Every single part of my body is telling me to stop doing this challenge.
01:16
But I know there's nothing compared to what Max is going through so
01:18
we're absolutely going to go get it.
01:24
Every part of my body is saying to stop walking.
01:35
One thing I wasn't anticipating was
01:39
as my body is starting to hurt, I'm slowing down with each run that I do.
01:44
I've got less break time in between each run,
01:46
which is making each run so much harder.
01:48
So I haven't quite figured out the straight for that, but it is what it is.
01:53
I'm nearly there, so.
01:55
Eight miles left.
01:57
Eight miles isn't far, but I'm walking on legs which have already done 40, so I'm feeling it.
02:07
It's the final push.
02:09
We've got four miles left and it couldn't have come soon enough.
02:11
48 miles in 48 hours.
02:20
Challenge completed.
02:23
You have no idea how good it feels
02:25
to know that I'd have to wake up in two hours time to do another run.
02:29
Thanks to all of those who supported and donated,
02:32
Max has raised an impressive £30,000 towards brain tumour research,
02:35
but he's trying to get to his next goal of £50,000.
02:38
So let's help him get there.
