Bristol City “keep believing” in themselves after late win

00:00Bristol City head coach Liam Manning has said that his side are continuing to believe in themselves

00:05after they scored a late winner against West Bromwich Albion

00:09to see them move up to fifth place in the championship.

00:13Yeah, look, I think the whole place, right, the emotion's extremely high.

00:17And rightly so, I think, you know, we've been on the other end of a few of those this season

00:20where, you know, Sheffield United's one that jumps the mind where we perform terrifically well

00:23and end up losing 2-1.

00:25So, you know, to be on the other side of it tonight, obviously, you get the high

00:28and then, yeah, what an electric atmosphere at the end.

00:31I thought I was really pleased first half.

00:32I thought the bravery we showed to play, but with real purpose, you know,

00:35made good decisions to go through a round.

00:37I thought we caused them some problems and at the same point, I thought up to their goal,

00:42I thought we were excellent and really pleased, really enjoyed watching us again.

00:45And then naturally, you know, you get the error for the goal,

00:49which you then just get a major momentum shift.

00:51It goes from us, you know, kind of being in control to they, we get the massive low,

00:54they get the high and, you know, we then have to ride it out for 20 minutes.

00:56You know, they're an extremely strong side with some well set up and some extremely talented players.

01:01So, you know, we had to dig in a little bit, defend the box, show some character,

01:06which I've spoken a lot around, but you see that in the group.

01:08They keep believing, they keep fighting, they keep giving everything,

01:10which is the bare minimum we expect.

01:12And finally, Bristol Rovers player Sel Swinkles made clear that the loss away at Bolton

01:16was another tough game to endure.

01:19Yeah, difficult one to take.

01:21I think after Tuesday, it was a performance we could build on and we were confident going here,

01:27even though, you know, the last couple of games haven't been going our way.

01:31And then to go into halftime, you know, nil-nil,

01:35before at halftime we were in the game and just keep doing what we're doing.

01:39And one moment just kills us again.

01:41And it's tough because I think as a team we do the right things,

01:47but it's not enough at this level.

01:49And against these teams, doing well in the league,

01:53fighting effort for players for promotion or blues,

01:56like maybe being top of the league,

01:59it's about small margins and the last couple of percentages.

02:03And we can't afford us to drop off in these sort of games.

02:08And we've just got to stay focused for 95, 96, 97 minutes.

02:12And let's just kill this again.
