00:00Good news, teammates, because the rank of Pinoy Tennis Sensation, Alex Ayala, has risen again.

00:06From 75th place to 2nd place, Ayala is now in 73rd place in the WTA World Rankings.

00:15This is now the highest rank of a Filipino in singles in the history of the Open Era.

00:22The first highest rank of a Filipino in singles came from Eddie Cruz in 1974, who was ranked 179th,

00:30and Felix Barrientos in 1991, who was ranked 118th.

00:34Before Ayala, the highest rank of a Filipino in history was Cecil Mamet, who reached 72nd place in 1999,

00:45but he was still representing the United States at that time.

00:50Ayala will return to action next week in the WTA 125 Challenger OERA Ladies Open in Portugal

00:57as a preparation for the WTA 1000 Madrid Open, which will start on April 22.
