00:15At the age of 16, Hailey Garcia is one of the rising artistic gymnasts here in the Philippines.
00:23Garcia recently won three medals in the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines or GAP Challenge 2025.
00:32The last Filipino to win the GAP Gym in Intramuros, Manila,
00:36Garcia was one of the most-medalled athletes after winning five gold medals.
00:42But it's not just in the local scene that Garcia is famous
00:46because she also won several awards in the United States.
00:49Including her double silver medal at the 2025 World Olympic Gymnastics Academy or WOGA Classic Gym 2 in February,
00:58and the two golds and one silver and bronze medal at the 2025 Spring Rope Rhythms Invitational 2025 in March.
01:08At the PTV Sports interview with Garcia,
01:11she said that although she is already flagging the Philippines in the International Gymnastics Stage,
01:16she also aspires to become an official member of our country.
01:22Yes, I really want to be able to compete in the Asian Champs and SEA Games this year.
01:27I'm working hard to achieve my goals.
01:31If I can join the national team, there's a chance that I can join the SEA Games this year.
01:39Like many other gymnasts,
01:41Hailey is also one of those who were inspired by the Filipino double Olympic gold medalist gymnast, Carlos Yulo.
01:49It gave me a lot of hope.
01:51I was very excited for him.
01:55He was my inspiration and the reason why I wanted to join the national team
02:03and why I wanted to compete in the Olympics.
02:08Garcia is currently in the US for another US Gymnastics competition.
02:14Here, she continues to aspire to be one of the best Filipino artistic gymnasts in the future.
