00:00You've said a lot about how this is a negotiation.
00:02You just mentioned it again.
00:04Just yesterday, President Trump said, quote, big business is not worried about the tariffs
00:07because they know they are here to stay, unquote.
00:10And take a listen to the Commerce Secretary.
00:14I don't think there's any chance that President Trump's going to back off his tariffs.
00:19This is the reordering of global trade.
00:23So are these tariffs to be negotiated or are these tariffs here to stay?
00:26I'm still not getting a clear message on that.
00:30Well, listen, this is a national security issue.
00:35This is about reshoring thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of jobs.
00:40This is about moving our American farmers and ranchers into a new era of prosperity.
00:45This is about strong and bold leadership.
00:48And I'll tell you, Jake, this isn't just some new sort of concept that just came up under,
00:52you know, the Trump years under the last eight or 12 years.
00:55This started in 1791 with Alexander Hamilton, when he wrote a whole premise on the idea
01:01that Americans and the whole concept of America was founded on a fervent, positive protection
01:08of our goods out of America.
01:11And for 150 years, that was the approach, 150 years.
01:15And that's when America went from basically a frontier country to the world's largest,
01:21most exceptional economic power.
01:24And it was the dawn of the progressive era about 100 years ago that began to move back
01:28toward this idea of America being a neutral arbiter on the world stage.
01:33Well, listen, it's time to go back to our founding father's vision.
01:37And so as we move forward, this president is the chief dealmaker.
01:41He will ensure that America is put first, that all of these tariffs, a 300 percent tariff
01:45on our dairy products from Canada.
01:47I mean, it's it's absurd what our farmers and ranchers and our manufacturers have had
01:51to deal with over the last, you know, decades.
01:54And it's it's time to fix it.
01:55Yeah.
01:56The question was, are these tariffs here to stay, as Howard Lutnick and President Trump
02:01seem to be suggesting?
02:02Or is there going to be room for negotiation, as you seem to be suggesting?
02:08Listen, we've got 50 countries that are burning the phone lines into the White House and probably
02:16the president's cell phone as well and probably Howard Lutnick's as well.
02:21And I've heard from some as well.
02:23This is the ultimate dealmaker who is a businessman at the head of our government.
02:29Finally, that the American people said all swing states, all the popular vote tariffs
02:35were a part of his plan.
02:36We're going to put America first and he will do everything in his power all day, every
02:42day to do just that.
02:44Right now, we're two business days into this new American order.
02:48So I think we have a lot to be determined.
02:50But the president is resolute in his focus, in his boldness, in his fearlessness and in
02:56his relentlessness to ensure that we're putting America first by using these tariffs, along
03:00with deregulation, cutting taxes, energy dominance.
03:05It's an entire package.
03:06But right now, obviously, the tariffs are front and center.
