00:00Here at Shortwood Primary School and we've got the Warriors with us and head teacher, hello!
00:05Hello! It's a bit of a special award you've had this morning isn't it? It is, we're really pleased
00:10that we've got one of the first schools to get the Sandwell Chartermark Award to recognise the work
00:15that we do to support the well-being of all of our community. And who are these two students
00:20we've got here with the award? So this is Betsy and Alex and they are two of our Wellbeing Warriors.
00:28So you've been here to present the award haven't you madam? I have yeah. Just introduce yourself.
00:32So I'm Laura Goodfellow, I'm the Interim Service Living Manager for Special Needs
00:36and Personalisation at Telford and Eking Council. So what have the school had to kind of demonstrate
00:41to you, what are they excelling at and doing well at to get this award? So they've been working with
00:44our Educational Psychology Service over the last 12 months or so just to make sure that they're
00:49putting in place the support for well-being for staff and students and families and they've been
00:54incorporating some things such as a well-being bench and a buddy bench so that the children can
00:59support each other. It's been great to hear and how proudly all of that achievement today.
01:03And you two at the front here, you say you're Wellbeing Warriors,
01:07have you taken to that role, have you enjoyed it? It's quite fun job and we've...
01:14Yeah is it about helping people is that what yeah? Yes. It makes you feel good doesn't it
01:19if you help someone? And what about this well-being bench, have you been involved in that as well?
01:25It's like on all of the playgrounds. Yeah? On the reception playground, the key stage one playground,
01:31the key stage two playground. Yeah. Basically if you're like lonely and then you can like
01:38and you sit on the bench, someone might come to you and then you can like play.
01:41Wow what a great idea, well well done to everyone involved.
01:45Can we get a big short word from the Warriors at the back, short word.
