A new forest school gas opened at Moorcroft Wood  primary school.

00:00It's a really momentous moment for us because we know how much this forest means to our children

00:05and what wonderful learning they can do while they're in the forest. We've got lots and lots

00:09of wonderful activities in the forest and on the fields over there but I shall leave that over to

00:13Mrs Perry to explain what's going to happen for this morning. I'm absolutely delighted to see so

00:19many family members here, it's brilliant, so thank you so much for taking some time out of your day

00:24to come and join us. But I'd like to say a few thank yous. I'd like to say thank you to two

00:28companies that without them we wouldn't have been able to open up. That's Unity Bank and InStock,

00:33if you'd just like to wave. They've both done work in the grounds to help us open but they've also

00:45donated money to help us get the things we need so thank you very much to both those companies,

00:49it's absolutely brilliant. I'd like to say a massive thank you to Dan Sandy, he's from the

00:54Federation, he won't thank me for doing this but he's been pivotal in getting this forest done so

00:59a massive thank you to him and a huge thank you. So unfortunately Mr Lees is not here today because

01:04he's poorly but he has put his heart and soul into making sure this gets opened and he's gone above

01:09and beyond. Coming in the weekends he's done so much to make this happen for us all today

01:14and then there are a variety of staff that could be here all day thanking for her work hard to do

01:20that and you'll see a lot of them in the forest today so thank you to them all. This is a great

01:24opportunity for us now to get outside and enjoy our learning environment and have some real good

01:29fun. So I know kids are you excited? Oh you can be more excited than that, are you excited?

01:37Excellent, well before we open up we're going to let Mrs, oh no I think we're going to open up

01:43first actually, we're going to let you open up and then Mrs Perry is going to do a little health

01:47and safety talk so we all know how to use the forest safely. So over to you.
