00:43What I think is rather unfortunate is that this country has been divided so much because of politics.
00:49One of the two candidates has actually, who is a friend of mine, he has actually been given instructions not to speak to me.
00:54And when you get that type of division, that is what has destroyed this country, the politics.
00:58Where we have seen accusations being made of political parties paying $3 million for persons to get safe seats.
01:05We are getting accusations of third parties being paid off by the PNM and the UNC.
01:09We have situations where political parties have hired someone who has admitted he is a social media prostitute and he is voting just to attack other persons.
01:17I am asking the country, this is going to be 24 days of campaigning.
01:21We need to tone it down, understand and appreciate that there is going to be a day called April 29th.
01:26And when we do this, we need to accept the fact that we will all be citizens of this great country.
01:30There will be one Prime Minister, one government.
01:33I think we really need to understand that sometimes politicians have divided this country.
01:38I recall when I started working with Basio Pandey.
01:41Basio Pandey and Patrick Manning, those two individuals ensured that the country was united even during an election campaign.
01:47And what I am seeing here, I wish to express my disappointment on.
01:52I gave specific instructions to all 17 candidates, inclusive of myself, not to be involved in this kind of charade that takes place.
02:00This is Banana Republic politics.
02:02You are offering your services for a country.
02:05You are supposed to be humble.
02:07You are supposed to be a patriot.
02:09And I said, I don't want no tassel drums, no rhythm section, no lots of people tuning up here.
02:14What are you tuning up here for?
02:15You are offering your service to help the country.
02:18And you have to tune up with fanfare and blowing trumpets.
02:21That is arrogance.
02:23This is, I have reached already.
02:24I am a big person in the dance.
02:26If you get on like this, like what you are seeing here, before you even become a member of parliament, God knows how you will act when you become a member of parliament.
02:34That type of arrogance is not required.
02:37When you are applying to be a member of parliament, you are supposed to show a degree of humility.
02:41Not fanfare and tassel drum and moko jumbies.
02:44So, if you start this way, you are going to end in a bad way.
