00:03kind of cameo come about?

00:05Did he reach out?

00:07Was it always the plan for him to be involved as someone who works at the memory care facility?

00:11Well, I'm trying to think.

00:14I think I reached out first.

00:17He was finishing drying his hands with a towel in the bathroom at the CMT's.

00:22Bold move.

00:24So we met.

00:25I ran into him in the bathroom, straight up at the CMT Music Awards.

00:33I'm walking in and he's walking out.

00:35I stopped and I looked at him and I was like, hey, oh, hey man.

00:37He was like, hey, he's a big fan.

00:39I'm like, oh, big fan.

00:40We did this thing and he's like, hey, I said thank you for letting us have some of your

00:45songs on the show.

00:46It's been awesome.

00:47And he's like, dude, he's like, well, how do I get on the show?

00:52I've been petitioning online and talking to my people and my publicists and they're

00:56like, you've got to get me on that show.

00:58It's about what I really represent.

01:00And I was like, wow, so cool.

01:03I was like, Joe, you know, I can probably get you on the show.

01:07He's like, yeah.

01:08I was like, yeah.

01:09He's like, what do you want me to do?

01:10What do I need to do?

01:11And he was like, I'll call you tomorrow.

01:12And I was like, all right.

01:13And I was like, OK.

01:17And Chernoff calls me the next day, which was big because it showed how sincere he was.

01:24He's going to walk the walk.

01:29And they really kind of just kept following up about it.

01:33And we worked on, one, coming up with a character that we all thought would be interesting and

01:40unique and special and still tell some of the story and this second chances idea and

01:52what he really represents, but also feel different from who he is and sort of how people see

01:59him day to day as a country singer.

02:02Yeah, we got it all worked out and it's pretty awesome.
