Campbell praises former co-ordinators ahead of head coaching debuts

Dan Campbell believes Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson will succeed with the Jets and the Bears respectively.

00:00I think it speaks for itself. If you just go pull up anything that he's done here and just watch him,

00:04I mean, it's all over the internet. This guy's, he's an unbelievable teacher. He's a motivator.

00:09He's all about the details and he's about accountability. Like he's not, look,

00:15if he's got something on his mind, he's no different than I am, then he's going to say it.

00:18He's not going to just, you know, you're brushing it under the rug or sweeping it under the rug.

00:25Like he's going to let me know, uh, this is, this is a problem. And, uh, and I think that's

00:30important. Sometimes it gets lost and everybody just assumes that if you're holding people

00:34accountable, that means you're being an a**hole. That's not what that means. It means I'm telling

00:37you that I don't like what you're doing. He always asks the right questions. A number of reasons why,

00:42you know, he's waited this long to take one of these, you know, he's been the hot name for,

00:47you know, going on three years now because he's self-aware. He knows, I think he knew

00:52I'm not, my mind's not there. My heart's not there. I'm just not ready in general.

00:57And I don't think everybody's that way, right? Not everybody is, you know, you get, you get

01:02offered something like that. You're going to jump at it immediately. And he's not that, uh, because

01:06he, he thinks about these things, um, five moves out. And, and so that's why I think he's put a

01:14lot of thought and he's asked a lot of good questions. You know, we talk all the time. Uh,

01:19and, and so I did my best to, to help him be prepared to take that role. And I just,

01:25you know, I think he's going to do great.
