00:00The Armed Forces of the Philippines AFP gave a statement on the importance of the Philippine's preparation

00:06in case of tension in Taiwan.

00:08Patrick De Jesus of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.

00:14On the 38th anniversary of the AFP Northern Luzon Command,

00:18the AFP Chief of Staff, General Romeo Browner Jr. gave a statement

00:23on the importance of the Philippine's preparation in case of invasion in Taiwan.

00:28Browner said, this is part of the military's shift to territorial defense

00:33where the NORCOM serves as a frontliner in the northern part of the country.

00:58We will be involved.

01:00There are 250,000 OFWs working in Taiwan and we will have to rescue them.

01:09And it will be the task of Northern Luzon Command to be at the front line of that operation.

01:16The AFP Chief added, part of the preparation is the consideration of war.

01:22We are already at war.

01:24I am not referring to the kinetic warfare that we see between Ukraine and Russia

01:29or between Israel and Hamas.

01:32But we are experiencing already cyber warfare, information warfare,

01:39cognitive warfare, political warfare.

01:42So, we are already at war.

01:45The communist China is already conducting united front works in our country.

01:52It is not a coincidence that they are already infiltrating our institutions.

02:01Meanwhile, the Philippine Navy will carry out the strongest order of battle in the West Philippine Sea

02:07and the oceanic control of the northern part of the country.

02:11The command and control of the officers of the Naval Forces West and Northern Luzon

02:16and the preparation of additional ships including BRP Miguel Malbar and BRP Diego Silang

02:24and other more modern equipment.

02:26We are paying more attention to these areas and these are the naval components confronting them.
