00:00Wellness, inside, and you understanding
00:03and taking responsibility for your wellness inside.
00:06That's the real beauty.
00:08The physical stuff is cool, but like,
00:10park that until you know what's happening with your body.
00:14Hello!
00:15You're in my bathroom, but that's super appropriate
00:18because I am Beatrice Dixon,
00:20co-founder and CEO of The Honey Pot Company.
00:22Today is gonna be a ridiculously busy day,
00:25so I'm super excited to get started.
00:27Let me throw a robe on,
00:28and then I'm gonna show you my reclared five-minute face.
00:34So one of the most important things about facial care
00:37and self-care to me is really all about
00:40your nighttime routine.
00:41For my nighttime routine, I use our, it's funny,
00:45it's actually our Soothing Lavender Vulva Cream,
00:49but it's gorgeous.
00:50It has lavender, it has cocoa butter,
00:52it has coconut oil, it's absolutely beautiful.
00:55Most people don't recommend this.
00:56I do it because my skin is legendary
00:59and it can hold it up.
01:01But I blot a little bit of tea tree oil
01:03if I have any kind of pimple or anything like that.
01:06And also drinking a lot of water, which is huge.
01:09So let's get started with the five-minute routine.
01:11First and foremost is this really beautiful,
01:14it's called Skincredible, it's a sandalwood elixir,
01:18which is kind of like a serum, by Simply Divine.
01:22I absolutely love all of her products, they're incredible.
01:25So literally, I just take this, take a few pumps,
01:29put it on my face.
01:31You know, it's really important when you're applying
01:34a serum to make sure that you're kind of
01:37lifting your skin up.
01:38Next thing is the Simply Divine
01:41Amazing Face Moisturizer.
01:43This is absolutely beautiful.
01:45It has rose oil in it, it has lavender.
01:48She says that her first ingredient is love, which I love.
01:51That's really important with skincare.
01:53It's really important to, I think, to use skincare
01:56from companies that actually care about humanity.
02:00And so that's actually one of the things
02:02that attracted me to Simply Divine.
02:04Applying it to the face,
02:06making sure you're getting all around the eyes.
02:09Anything you do to your face, you do to your neck.
02:13Typically, your decollete,
02:14but then I would be showing y'all all my business,
02:16so you don't need to see all that.
02:20This is probably one of the most important things.
02:23The Black Girl Sunscreen, Make It Matter.
02:26It's a sunscreen gel.
02:27It's matte, so it's not super, super oily, which I love,
02:32and it doesn't leave a film.
02:33A little tiny bit goes a long way.
02:36People think humans that have melanated skin
02:39don't need to use sunscreen.
02:41That is not true.
02:42We do need to use sunscreen, and I love this sunscreen
02:45because it's literally made for humans
02:47that have melanated skin.
02:49I really love this YSL primer
02:51because it really gives your skin a dewy look,
02:55which is really, really amazing.
02:57I always feel good putting it on
02:59because it's really important for me
03:00to take care of my skin.
03:03So I started Honey Pot Company with my brother
03:07back in 2012.
03:09The Honey Pot Company is a vagina and vulva wellness brand.
03:12We started it because I had a serious bout
03:16with bacterial vaginosis.
03:18It was terrible.
03:19To make a long story short,
03:20essentially my grandmother came to me in a dream.
03:23My grandmother transitioned when my mother was young,
03:25and so I've never met her in this life,
03:27but she came to me in a dream,
03:29and she basically told me what to do to solve my issue.
03:33She gave me a list of ingredients,
03:35and she told me that if I was able
03:37to just put these ingredients together,
03:39I'd be able to make something that would solve
03:42for my problem with bacterial vaginosis.
03:44Literally, I did it, and within four to five days,
03:48whatever I had going on at the time went away.
03:51And so Honey Pot is literally born from a dream.
03:56So next is the Elf Lip Exfoliator.
04:00I love this exfoliator because it's not exfoliating
04:04the way that you would think.
04:06It's not like a lip scrub where it has salt or sugar,
04:09and I think that those things are important,
04:12but I like this because you may feel
04:14a little bit of a tingle,
04:15but it's doing what it's supposed to do.
04:17So next, my girl Rihanna did it again.
04:20Rihanna, I love you, you're wonderful.
04:22Is the Fenty Skin Lip Oil.
04:25We're gonna be putting on some lipstick in a little bit,
04:28so I don't want my lips to be too oily.
04:31You know, and you literally just like rub it in, right?
04:34Keep it simple.
04:35So next is Goop, Goop, Goop.
04:39Seriously, we all know about Goop.
04:41We all have to have respect for it.
04:43Gwyneth, I love you.
04:44This lip balm, you guys, is absolutely gorgeous.
04:48Really amazing throughout the day,
04:50especially if you're not wearing lipstick
04:51or pre-putting on your lipstick.
04:54I'm not just saying all this
04:55because Gwyneth is one of my best friends.
04:57It really is a really, really, really,
05:00really, really amazing product, and it's cute.
05:03Look at that, look at that little, you know what I mean?
05:05So first I'm gonna apply the lip liner.
05:10It's kind of hard to talk while I'm doing it.
05:15Okay.
05:16Listen, a good red lip is classic,
05:19it's legendary, and it's all you need.
05:21And this Boss Lady Red Lip will literally last you
05:24for hours without needing to reapply.
05:26It's really important to support Black-owned business,
05:30especially Black-owned women businesses.
05:32Honey Pie is a Black-owned women-owned business.
05:35At the end of the day, we're all human beings.
05:38That's not lost on me.
05:40But the opportunities that we've been given
05:42to be successful in business,
05:44that is only gonna be able to last
05:46if we support each other.
05:48It may not be a part of my whole skin regimen
05:51or my whole, with my clothes and everything like that,
05:54but it's really important for me
05:55to support other Black-owned businesses,
05:57especially if they're women-owned businesses.
06:00Putting on liquid lipstick is really important
06:03to pay attention to where it's going
06:05because I'm gonna tell you in a second why.
06:08Melissa would be so proud of me right now.
06:10She had to teach me how to do this a couple years ago.
06:15Melissa, what do you think?
06:16I really love this Gimme Brow Benefit.
06:19It's just like a moisturizer for your brow,
06:21and it kind of keeps them up.
06:23So just going through, getting the brows all in order,
06:27keeping it simple.
06:28That's how I like to flow.
06:31This is, once again, my girl Rihanna, Fenty Beauty.
06:35This is, once again, my girl Rihanna, Fenty Beauty,
06:38her eyeshadow palette.
06:40I like really natural tones
06:43just because I like to keep things simple,
06:45and I'm using a Q-tip because I'm a bit of a germaphobe.
06:50So I don't use a lot of brushes and things like that,
06:55but literally just keeping it simple.
06:58We didn't really launch until 2014,
07:01and we started off really small.
07:03I was literally in the kitchen.
07:05But in 2016, we got an email from Target,
07:09which blew our mind.
07:11And basically, they had heard about us,
07:14and they wanted to talk to us.
07:16We were very lucky because we were able
07:18to get in front of Target,
07:20which doesn't necessarily happen every day.
07:22We got that opportunity in 2016.
07:262017, we actually launched in 1,100 doors of Target,
07:31which was incredible.
07:32We had no idea of what we were getting into.
07:36But, you know, through a lot of trial and tribulation,
07:38things worked out.
07:40Honey Pot is sold in every single Target,
07:43and Target actually has the biggest portfolio
07:46of our products on their shelf
07:47of all of our retail partners.
07:49So that completes my five-minute face.
07:52Crazy, crazy day.
07:53Y'all are gonna be with me the whole way,
07:55so let's get to it.
07:57Hi.
07:58I'm super excited about this partnership with Target.
08:01We are going on an HBCU tour,
08:04and I'm gonna be moderating panels
08:06at Clark Atlanta University, Howard University,
08:10Prairie View, and North Carolina A&T.
08:13I think the main message that I want to come across
08:16is that it's our responsibility
08:18to take care of our wellness.
08:20Self-care is really about being connected to your body,
08:24being responsible with your body.
08:25If I could wave a magic wand,
08:27that would be what I want people to walk away,
08:30just really understanding that wellness is yours.
08:34I mean, really, that's the real wealth.
