00:00The Senate is demanding that our affected countrymen in Myanmar and Thailand receive the help they need.

00:09This is Daniel Manalastas' report.

00:14Senate President Jesus Codero is demanding to the government that our affected countrymen in Myanmar and Thailand

00:21will be accounted and helped.

00:24He is also asking for psychosocial support for the survivors.

00:28The leader of the Senate of Sympathy to the government of Myanmar and Thailand

00:33especially to the families who lost their loved ones because of the earthquake.

00:37The Senator also wants a regular inspection of the infrastructure in our country.

00:43Senator Sherwin Gatchalian urged the Department of Foreign Affairs

00:47and the Consulate to hold an operation to find the missing Filipinos.

00:52In the earthquake in Thailand, even though the Filipino was not affected by the casualty,

00:57the Senator also urged the DFA to use the resources available to help the affected Filipinos in the area.

01:04The Senator also asked the government to mobilize a humanitarian assistance team for the affected areas.

01:11As a member of ASEAN, we need to be ready to support our countrymen.

01:17The House Committee on Metro Manila Development Chairperson Rolando Valeriano

01:23asked our countrymen to remain alert and be ready for any disaster.

01:27According to Valeriano, the biggest question here is whether Metro Manila is ready for the big one

01:33and what are the steps that the government is taking.
