Today, if some positive patients have come to people's homes and they are scared about how to treat them at home
00:10
or if they have to go to the hospital for treatment and they are not getting beds in the hospital
00:14
then I will show you in 2 minutes how to take care of these people at home
00:20
I am Dr. Sanjeev Kumar from Sunshine Hospital, Gachiboli
00:26
Oxygen saturation is 100%
00:29
If the oxygen saturation is less than 90% then these patients are sick
00:32
If the oxygen saturation is more than 90% then there is nothing to worry about
00:35
I waited so long because the pulse oximeter takes about 30 seconds to show normal oxygen saturation
00:42
Now, suppose these people are on oxygen saturation less than 90%
00:45
and they are being taken to the hospital facility but they are not getting beds, then what should we do?
00:51
We will prepare one more section of our house for sick patients
00:56
whose entry will not be entered by normal people
01:01
and we will isolate these people for 14 days
01:04
Suppose, if this is the patient and I have to take care of him
01:09
then I will tell you very important things
01:12
Whenever you will go to this room
01:15
So, you will wear a big cloth or any gown so that your clothes do not get infected
01:24
Wear a mask over the gown
01:31
After wearing the gown, this whole area is covered
01:34
Then you can apply a normal mask or N95 mask on it
01:40
Keep in mind that do not touch the mask with your hand
01:45
Sterilize it after touching it
01:47
Do not apply it in the eyes
01:48
You can use a simple mask but discard it daily
01:52
Now, because this is an infected zone, there are plastic shields available in the market
01:58
If you apply this, your secretions will not go out
02:02
Similarly, this patient will also wear a mask and put a shield
02:07
What will happen with this?
02:09
His secretions and your secretions cannot be found
02:13
The chance of infection is very low
02:16
If you want to spend time with this person
02:19
then according to social distancing, do not spend more than 5 minutes
02:25
Give them disposable food
02:30
As I said earlier, you can give everything in food
02:33
Now, while taking care of these people
02:35
Remember that they will use hand sanitizers or soap a lot
02:41
Apart from this, whenever you serve these people
02:45
then you will use gloves
02:50
Touch the patient only after wearing the gloves
02:55
If these people are using home-made clothes
02:59
then they will be washed after going out
03:03
If they are using disposable clothes
03:05
then they will be thrown away after using it every time
03:08
Now, if you take care of that patient in this condition
03:12
give him food, apply oxygen
03:16
or whatever you are doing, the chance of infection is less
03:20
Now, suppose I checked the oxygen saturation of this patient
03:24
and it was less than 90
03:27
I applied the pulse oximeter
03:29
and left it
03:32
This patient is having fever and his oxygen is also less
03:35
So, what will I do?
03:36
I will keep applying the pulse oximeter
03:38
and such a cylinder is available in the market
03:41
It is refilled for Rs. 400 per month
03:46
There is a knob in this
03:48
If you turn this knob on
03:51
it shows the liters
03:54
Generally, on 5 liters
03:56
whenever it happens
03:57
we can apply such small nasal prongs to the patient
04:07
We can apply such nasal prongs
04:09
After applying the nasal prongs
04:11
see the reading of the pulse oximeter
04:14
If it is not more than 90
04:16
and the patient is still having fever
04:18
then you can remove this nasal prong
04:20
and buy this big mask from the market
04:24
If you apply this mask on the cylinder
04:27
then oxygen can be given to a patient up to 10 liters
04:30
Then you check the oxygen
04:31
Wait for 5 minutes after giving oxygen
04:33
Even after this, if the oxygen is not improving
04:36
then you have the last option
04:38
High Flow Oxygen Mask
04:40
This mask is attached with a balloon
04:43
As soon as we connect it with oxygen
04:45
it gives extra oxygen
04:51
In this, you can fill up to 15 liters of oxygen
04:56
After filling this balloon
04:58
when you apply it
05:00
the patient's fever or oxygen saturation improves
05:03
After applying this
05:05
you keep checking the saturation
05:07
When it is above 90, leave it as it is
05:10
During the day, these people can wear the mask for 3 to 4 hours
05:14
and as soon as they start having fever
05:16
they can wear a small mask
05:18
If possible
05:20
keep the bed height a little higher while sleeping
05:24
For the safety of this room
05:27
so that the infection does not go out
05:29
use home-made phenyl or any antiseptic solution
05:32
to clean the house
05:34
When you come out of this room
05:36
the first thing you have to do
05:38
is to remove the mask and throw it away in 10 days
05:41
and do not go out with this gown
05:43
After removing the gown
05:46
leave the mask and shields in the same room
05:52
wash your hands
05:54
wash your hands completely
05:56
and come out of this room
05:58
If these people are served like this for 14 days
06:01
then they improve
