00:00Good afternoon, I'm Jason Crow from Colorado and it is my pleasure to be here with my colleagues,
00:09my comrades and brothers and sisters in arms that represents almost 100 years of military
00:16service standing behind me here today.
00:20We all understand that our deepest and most sacred obligation is to protect the men and
00:28women in uniform who protect us every single day.
00:32There's nothing more serious that we do day in and day out here to ensure that these men
00:37and women are protected and that they can go home to their families when their mission
00:42is done.
00:43And it's that that makes this incident, this reckless breach of security so staggering.
00:51Because it not only put at great risk the lives of those airmen and women who were conducting
00:58an extremely dangerous mission that day, but it also represents a larger pattern.
01:04And I'd like to talk about that.
01:06See, this isn't a one-off event.
01:10This isn't just a singular mistake that the administration still hasn't admitted that
01:16it needs to fix.
01:17This is part of a larger pattern of disregard, of impunity, of not taking its job seriously
01:25in our most sensitive national security life and death decisions.
01:30Whether it's transmitting the names of intelligence officers in an unclassified channel to the
01:34White House.
01:35Whether it's Elon Musk's private employees hooking up a personal computer to a sensitive
01:41national security system, compromising that system.
01:44Whether it's giving Elon Musk and his employees access to private, personal, financial, and
01:51data of American people.
01:54This happens over and over and over again.
01:59So the pattern that has brought to light through this incident shows very clearly that this
02:06administration simply does not care about protecting your data, protecting your information.
02:13It simply does not care to take seriously enough protecting sensitive national security
02:18information.
02:19Now, we hope that there was no damage done here.
02:23We don't know that to be true because we still have to do the investigation.
02:26But folks, it is simply a matter of time before the culture of recklessness and impunity of
02:33the Trump administration is going to get a lot of people hurt very badly.
02:38And that will only be stopped if there's a change in culture.
02:42And the only way you change culture is by getting information, bringing it to light,
02:47and then imposing accountability on those responsible.
02:50That is what must happen.
02:52And if Donald Trump and the Trump administration do not do that, they are sending a very clear
02:56message once again that they do not care about the safety of the American people.
03:01Now it's my honor to pass this over to another fellow combat veteran, Seth Moulton from Massachusetts.
