00:08released from Israeli detention on Tuesday.

00:11Hamdan Balal, who co-directed the film No Other Land, said he was assaulted by Israeli

00:16settlers in the occupied West Bank after filming them attacking his neighbor's house.

00:22Israeli police arrested three men, including Balal, who was injured during the standoff.

00:28I am a photographer, you know.

00:31I went there to document what's happened there.

00:34I'm just filming two shots.

00:37And then when I saw the settlers, it's like, become more and more and attack, throw stones

00:43and destroy everything, I back to my house because I was so scared if they coming to

00:50my family and my kids.

00:54So when I back there, I was outside, I close the door.

00:58What I let you, tell you before, I was just waiting outside.

01:05If any settlers or any army attacking my home, they came, the soldiers with the settlers

01:13attacking me and beating me and destroyed me.

01:19This is first time.

01:20And this is came, it's like first, I got the Oscar also.

01:31hard attack after the Oscar.

01:34In the beginning, yes, there's attack, but not like this.

01:37The army, they tried to stop the settler, but this, this is the attack.

01:42They came, the soldiers, they came attacking me with the settlers.

01:47Monday's incident was the latest in which Israeli settlers have been accused of raiding

01:51Palestinian or Bedouin villages and encampments in the West Bank, sometimes to steal livestock.

01:58Palestinians and activists who monitor such attacks say the police and army typically

02:02stand by without intervening.

02:05European countries and the previous U.S. administration of President Joe Biden have imposed sanctions

02:10on violent Israeli settlers, but under President Donald Trump, the White House has removed

02:15them.
