00:00This is the most disastrous spill of noodles we are seeing in the world.

00:07As you can see, these beaches on the western coast of Sri Lanka are scattered with noodles.

00:30The real urgency is that if we don't remove these noodles as soon as possible, they will

00:51get mixed up with the sand.

00:52They will harm our marine environment, our marine life.

00:54These are the pre-production blocks or the building blocks of any type of plastic item

00:55out there.

00:56And because they are in the size of a plastic bottle, we have to remove them as soon as

01:25possible.

01:26Because it's so small, it has become a challenge for anybody to really clean this.

01:27We collect sand with the noodles into the sieve and you keep shaking until all the sand

01:28leaves the sieving tray and only the noodles are there.

01:29This is the most disastrous spill of noodles we are seeing in the world.

01:40As you can see, these beaches on the western coast of Sri Lanka are scattered with noodles

01:41So what we are going to do is put it in the water, shake it a little bit and we are going

02:41to put it in the water.

02:43We don't know how long it will take to really clean up all these noodles.

02:47We've understood from other countries where there have been noodle pollution that they

02:56keep on happening, especially in Hong Kong, since 2011 there are still noodles washing

03:02up on the shorelines.

03:03So we are trying to take this time to really remove as much noodles as possible.
