00:30I was sitting at my desk trying to think of a new power, and I saw a fly crawling on the

00:42And I said to myself, wow, what if I had a superhero who could crawl on walls or stick

00:48to a ceiling like a fly?

00:54Teenagers, raging hormones, they never change.

01:23My publisher said, Stan, you've lost it.

01:25He said, first of all, nobody likes spiders.

01:28You can't call a hero Spider-Man.

01:30Secondly, a teenager can't be a hero.

01:33He can only be a sidekick.

01:35And lastly, he said, you say he's got all kind of problems.

01:39Don't you understand, Stan?

01:40He's a hero.

01:42Heroes don't have problems.

01:51This is your chance, Peter.

01:53Kiss her.

02:06And I know I'm not your father.

02:08Then stop pretending to be.

02:09Part of the reason why I love Spider-Man so much is that he's relatable, and he's relatable

02:14because he's a kid in high school.
