Like, being recognizable means more than being competent, and so I knew that after those first couple weeks, I'm like, wow, probably for a long time, at least some amount of people are going to ask me my opinion on stuff.
01:07You know, looking back at it, I could see that my picture was trending on Twitter just because I was the funny-looking guy in the crowd before I ever said a word.
01:14Then when Anderson Cooper calls on me at the very end of the debate, he says, my name is Ken Bone. Everybody's like, that's not a real name. That is totally fake. I can assure you that is my real name.
02:08Some of the work that I do these days are with organizations like one called Better Angels, where I try to get Republican and Democrat-leaning people in the same room and realize that we're all human, and even though we might have opposing views about those things, we should be able to sit down and recognize that we're both human beings and we both do actually want what's best for people and for society.
02:29We just don't necessarily agree on how to accomplish that.
02:33I don't pretend like I'm representing people. People who are in similar situations to me might have wildly different ideas and views. I don't pretend to speak for anybody but myself.
02:54It is nice that somebody from a working-class background is able to be a little bit more visible. I guess that helps working-class folks out a little bit. I guess that part's cool.
