Secret healthcare bill?

Republicans haven't let anyone see their healthcare bill yet. Are they just playing hide and...sick?

00:00When it was done the last time, it was jammed down people's throat.

00:09And the reason that we are watching this process play out in secret,

00:13the reason why no one in this country will see this piece of legislation until it's already passed

00:18is because Republicans learned a lesson from 2009 and 2010.

00:22The bill that they are working on, which is based on the disastrous bill

00:31passed in the House last month, is a bill that would do incalculable harm

00:38to people all over our country.

00:41It is all being done with an eye to try to get it by with 50 votes and the vice president.

00:53I haven't seen the bill and it has become increasingly apparent in the last few days

00:59that even though we thought we were going to be in charge of writing a bill

01:03within this working group, it's not being written by us.

01:13I haven't seen any legislative language.

01:15You have not seen it? You haven't seen it either?

01:17As I said, my staff has provided some technical assistance to individuals,

01:20but I haven't seen it.

01:29And I should think that every Republican should be embarrassed by this,

01:34and I know that many of them are.
