Colorado Senator Slams Ted Cruz Over Gov Shutdown

This Colorado senator blasted Ted Cruz for his shutdown hypocrisy  — right to his face.

00:00When the senator from Texas shut this government down in 2013, my state was flooded.

00:09It was underwater. People were killed. People's houses were destroyed.

00:17Their small businesses were ruined forever.

00:30I intend to speak in support of defunding Obamacare until I am no longer able to stand.

00:40I do not like them, Sam I am. I do not like green eggs and ham.

00:46Okay, we get they hate Donald Trump, but just because you hate somebody

00:53doesn't mean you should shut the government down.

00:55I seldom, as you know, rise on this floor to contradict somebody on the other side.

01:02I've worked very hard over the years to work in a bipartisan way

01:07with the presiding officer, with my Republican colleagues, but

01:12these crocodile tears that the senator from Texas is crying for

01:16first responders are too hard for me to take.

01:19How ludicrous it is that this government is shut down over a promise the president of the United States couldn't keep.

01:34And that America is not interested in having him keep.

01:38This idea that he was going to build a medieval wall across the southern border of Texas.

01:44Take it from the farmers and ranchers that were there and have the Mexicans pay for it, isn't true.
