00:00When I first got to the bottom, it seemed very pristine, almost like a moonscape, and
00:23I did see life.
00:24They were moving on their own accord, and they were very beautiful in many ways.
00:28But as I continued going along the bottom, cruising around, I did see what appeared to
00:33be one or two particles of man-made matter.
00:36I don't know if they were plastic or metal, but they definitely had sharp edges, and one
00:39of them had what looked like a letter on it, printed.
00:43So they were obvious contamination.
00:58It was very disappointing to see obvious human contamination of the deepest point in the
01:17ocean.
01:24It is the basis of the food chain in the oceans, and potentially on terrestrial life, that
01:35we all get contaminated by whatever we put into the ocean.
01:37It's not a big garbage collection pool, although it seems to be treated as such.
01:47I think that there are so many regulations that are not enforced, or that are simply
02:14not in place, that can control contamination going into the ocean, because once it goes
02:17into the ocean, it will be degraded, and it will flow all over the world, because the
02:20currents will carry it that way.
