Tens of thousands of free-spirited revelers (and tech bros) are making the trek to Burning Man this weekend. Here's how the festival has changed since its inception.

01:00Where radical keeps coming out, it is kind of radical, but radical in both senses of

01:20that term.

01:21Radical conventionally means, you know, pushing boundaries, but it also means deeply rooted

01:25in the human soul.

01:26Burning Man, for me, has been all kinds of special engagements with different folk.

01:34So what I've done here is made an ambiance where when people get in, they're everywhere

01:39they want to be all at once.

01:40I spin them around and take them here and there and just slow down a little bit.

01:45I call it the New Old West.

01:46The first thing you get is that welcome pack of when you have to throw yourself to the

01:50ground and that is something they do when you're a virgin and it's your first time in

01:53Burning Man.

01:54Anyone that paid for the camp, they had to pay about $16,500 for the camp, which is a

02:24million dollars for the week.

02:30Folks who have a huge amount of money to exploit that system very easily.

02:44We're really diversifying our city in so many different ways.

02:49I think Burning Man has been sort of the crown jewel in the art world.

02:55It's all about arts and culture and they're out there creating artwork like nothing you

03:03have ever seen before.

03:05It's a city that when you walk away, you leave no trace.
