00:00Think about that. Today, there are over 4 billion people living in areas that experience
00:07water issues. Only 1% of the world's fresh water is drinkable.
00:21This is unique. And how is this possible?
00:45They put a small tap in the tree, as you can see here. And this tap is very small. It's
00:48the size of the diameter of a pencil. It does not harm the tree in its long-term health.
01:18I walked into a maple farm, and I saw this farmer harvesting all of these wonderful delicious
01:40saps that he was converting into maple syrup. And I saw him throwing away this clear water
01:46out of this machine. And I asked him, where does this come from? And I thought it was
01:50incredibly wasteful. And he looked at me and said, well, this is the water that comes out
01:55of a tree after the sugar has been removed from the sap. And I throw it away because
02:00I don't have anything else to do with it. And I feel horribly wasteful doing this, but
02:03what am I going to do with it? It's just water. And I looked at him and I said, well, would
02:07you sell it to me? And he said, as if I was crazy, why would you want to do that?
02:27This wasn't just about my personal consumption. This was about delivering a promise to my
02:32kids that I was going to make the world better for them and their kids. And so this became
02:38a tremendous way for me to draw on my personal experiences to make an impact about something
02:44that I was personally passionate and cared a lot about.
03:05In the maple industry, there's about a billion gallons that goes wasted of this by-product
03:08every single year. This volume of this by-product really can create a big difference in terms
03:13of water conservation in the world.
03:15Izarazy believes in finding sustainable solutions, like giving farmers financial support, but
03:23then also giving farmers financial security.
03:27Building this network of these family farms to really create the scalability of the supply
03:32chain in order to overtake the bottled water industry, which is our mission, that becomes
03:37something that everyone has to be involved in to make it work.
03:51Water is an incredibly precious and scarce resource. We hear every single day in the
03:57media about areas of the world affected by water scarcity.
04:01It is time that we find new water solutions that are not contaminated. And so we have
04:07to be willing to make a change.
