These Bikinis Limit Water Waste

By using a process called digital printing, Adore Me is helping to reduce water use and pollution in the fashion industry.

00:30The World Bank actually estimates around 20% of global industrial water pollution comes

00:50from textile dyeing and processes.

00:53There's different washings and preparations that the fabric has to go through, and there's

00:58fewer of this needed for digital printing than for screen printing.

01:03And then also on the other side, after it's printed, then there's fewer washes and processing

01:09that the fabric has to do.

01:10So all of that kind of culminates to less water being used, which is really great.

01:20With screen printing, you have to cut screens for every color.

01:24With digital printing, you have limitless amount of color.

01:27So when you see a photo-real print, it's more than likely digital printed, because

01:31you can get really clear, crisp details, really fine lines that are harder to get with the

01:36traditional screen printing technique.

01:50It's not widely used by everybody, but as technology advances and people really ask

01:57for it more and push for it more, we're hoping that prices start dropping and make it more

02:00accessible for everybody.

02:02Digital printing's actually been around for a while.

02:05It's not super revolutionary.

02:07It's not going to save the world tomorrow, and we know that.

02:10But it's a little change and a little step that we can take that has a positive impact

02:17and a positive step forward as we start looking at different ways that we can improve, make

02:22our product better for our customer, for the workers, for the environment, and just for

02:27our company as a whole.
