'The first sakura': Cherry blossom season brightens Tokyo

Tourists and residents enjoy the start of cherry blossom season in Tokyo, with the full bloom of the white Somei Yoshino variety expected this weekend.

00:00In the cold winter, cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and I feel like I can do my best for the summer.

00:15Last year, I actually traveled to Korea to see the sakura as well, but it's like the

00:26colors of the Korean sakura are more white, not pinky like that.

00:32But in Japan, you can see many different colors of sakura, and we love that.

00:42When I walked up here, I've seen the first sakura.

00:46I instantly took a picture because I was like, my mom has been waiting because she's still

00:51in Germany, and she's been waiting for me to see sakura.

00:55And I'm leaving today, so I was very lucky to actually see some.

01:01It was so interesting because everyone has all this excitement about the season, and

01:08it's so nice to see.
