Jennifer Coolidge stars alongside Pete Davidson, Gabrielle Union and Bill Murray in the new movie 'Riff Raff.' She also discusses her role as Tanya in 'White Lotus' and how it helped her get to this point in her career.

00:00There's a side of Ruth that's just completely clueless and I can relate to that, so I felt

00:08like I could play it.

00:09Just clueless about how much she had to do with her life going, you know, the wrong way.

00:15I mean, people would call her a loser.

00:17You know, she'd had a great sort of exciting life and like a bombshell back in the day

00:22and you know, everyone had crushes on her and stuff and then she just, you know, picked

00:26a guy that sort of had lost interest in her.

00:29What are you doing?

00:30I get horny when I'm scared.

00:31I'm married.

00:32Who cares?

00:33It's just us in this shitty wildlife, you know?

00:34Get off of me.

00:35What?

00:36I'm not gonna.

00:37Come on.

00:38I'm not gonna, Ruth.

00:44I've had a pretty great life, so I don't want to say woe is me about anything because I've,

00:50you know, I had a pretty good life, but I made a lot of terrible decisions in my life

00:55and I messed up my life, you know, by my own actions and I don't know.

01:00I just like, I like that.

01:01I like to play people that are, have been screwed over in life and don't get everything

01:06they want to have, but still are forced to deal with what's left and I don't know, they're

01:12interesting and I kind of, I kind of knew a couple of people like that.

01:15I had a really good time on this film playing Ruth and stuff.

01:18I think doing Tanya in White Lotus was sort of cool just because it was very glamorous.

01:25I wasn't freezing my ass off in a, you know, a tiny house in the woods when we were doing

01:30White Lotus, but it was very glamorous.

01:32I have to say the Sicilian countryside, you know, it was very fancy.

01:36It was a very fancy experience, but at the same time, the actual payoff of like getting

01:42to play a character like Ruth, even though it wasn't glamorous, it was really interesting

01:48and I got to meet that, the cast of A Lifetime and I'm like getting to work with my heroes.

01:55I mean, I think that is the ultimate compliment.

01:59That would be enough almost really is just meeting these people.

02:02I don't, you know, it's the job is to just, you know, the extra benefit, but meeting these

02:06people, you know, people that you've have all kinds of thoughts about them and, you

02:11know, I don't know, just admiring someone, I mean, you know, when you're people, you

02:16really, that are really sort of true heroes and some of them are hilarious and then some

02:21of them are just scary good actors too.

02:25The Riff Raff cast had a lot of people that were, that are like, I think in anybody's

02:31book, like the top of the top.

02:34I mean, you know, they're just the creme de la creme.

02:36Yes, and you know, this is, I'm so glad you brought that up because, you know, Ditto is

02:41a genius and, but I don't know, would we have crossed paths?

02:45I mean, that was so great.

02:46If you get the great thing about, you know, the lucky thing, if you're an actress, you're

02:50on a good show or something that someone else happens to watch, you get another job out

02:54of the deal.

02:56And you know, to be honest, I couldn't have possibly predicted that that was going to

02:59be, even though I think Mike was a genius and all that, I just didn't have any idea

03:05that that job, it was such a surprise that that would be where so many people responded,

03:11you know?

03:12I like surprises, you know, where you think you decide whether someone, something's going

03:17to be successful or not, you know, you can really be off on it.

03:19And I don't know, I was, I was certainly surprised by all of that, by the, you know, the, you

03:27know, amount of people that responded to it.
