Thief flees farm shop with worker on bonnet

The prolific thief drove away from the Yorkshire farm shop with the staff member’s “torso on the car bonnet, his legs and feet scraping the road”.

00:06The brave worker who tried to stop him fleeing remained here for more than 200 metres

00:11and then jumped off when the thief stopped to check for oncoming traffic.

00:17A court heard how a store employee caught the thief having recognised him from an earlier incident

00:23where he lifted close to £900 worth of goods.

00:26So when the super smart thief returned to the shop he stole from, because that's a great idea,

00:32staff confronted him and gave chase.

00:36The thief who had a passenger in the car was nabbed shortly after

00:39when his registration plate was picked up by cameras.

00:45He told the cops he gave all his loot away, how utilitarian of him,

00:49and that the shop worker leapt onto his car denying he was driving dangerously.

00:57He later admitted to six offences including dangerous driving,

01:01shop theft and driving while disqualified and without insurance.

01:06He was jailed for 18 months and banned from driving for two years.
