00:00The European Union's top diplomat Kaya Kallis said she would visit Israel and raise questions

00:07on resumed hostilities in Gaza.

00:09She said it was important for the fighting to stop to save lives, adding that Gaza's

00:14future government was an important question and that the EU's position was that Hamas

00:19should have no role in it.

00:21Kallis spoke at a joint press conference with the Egyptian foreign minister.

00:24While in Cairo, she also met with Arab Islamic Committee representatives from Jordan, Qatar,

00:30the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
