00:00The Timor-Leste Court of Appeal approved the extradition request or request of the Philippines
00:04to bring back the former Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative, Arnulfo Tevez Jr.
00:09The Department of Justice said that the extradition request was for the government
00:13and that they were surprised and disappointed with the decision of the Timor-Leste Court
00:16especially since the court approved the extradition request twice, in June and December 2024.
00:21The DOJ will wait for the official copy of the decision.
00:25All legal steps that can be taken will also be studied
00:29For Tevez's lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio,
00:32the rule of law was a success against which he made accusations to his client
00:36about the decision of the Timor-Leste Court.
00:39Tevez is the mastermind behind the killing of the former Negros Oriental Governor,
00:43Roel Digamo, and Shyam Naybapa on March 4, 2023.
00:47He has previously denied the accusations.
