00:00President Volodymyr Zelensky warned against the Russian government proposal to stop military

00:05funding for his nation.

00:07President Zelensky also announced that he will speak with the United States President

00:11Donald Trump later within a few hours.

00:14This is after Russian leader Vladimir Putin issued a demand during a call with President

00:18Trump on Tuesday.

00:20They talked about the peace effort by Washington to try to negotiate a full ceasefire more

00:25than three years after Russia invaded Ukraine.

00:28President Zelensky said that more help would show that Ukraine is ready for any surprises

00:33from the Russians.

00:34The call between President Trump and Putin did not lead to the major peace that Ukraine

00:38has been asking for, even though Kyiv supported the U.S.-led proposal last week.

00:44However, the Kremlin agreed to stop Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy assets.

00:48As of now, President Zelensky hoped to get more information during a call later with

00:53President Trump.

00:54Earlier, Ukraine accused Russia of rejecting a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal after an

01:00overnight barrage of Russian drone and missile strikes in Ukraine.
